History

The band was founded in May 2003 by Victor Love (vocals ), Darin Yevonde ( bass), Grace Khold ( synthesizer) and Brian tungsten ( lead guitar ). 2004 was replaced by Brian Wolfram Alex Vega (formerly Klimt 1918).

With the first EP 10.000 Watts Of Artificial Pleasures of the band much attention has been given, especially since this was first propagated solely through the Internet for download.

The first album was Neuromance by Thomas Rainer and John Fryer (including Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, HIM, White Zombie ) produced and released on 28 August 2005. This was followed by appearances at the Wave -Gotik-Treffen, Amphi Festival and Mera Luna Festival.

In August 2006, published Dope Stars Inc. Make A Star EP that contains four bonus tracks and was produced by Victor Love in collaboration with Thomas Rainer.

In the same year came the album Gigahearts, which was also produced by Victor Love.

In the winter of 2006/2007 there were rumors about the departure of Grace Khold. In March 2007, was finally confirmed that Grace has left Khold from " personal reasons, " the band. Dope Stars Inc. continued to exist as a quartet: La Nuit (My Sixth Shadow, Latexxx Teens ) increased as a guitarist on board. He had already supported the band on some gigs. La Nuit and Victor Love are also "old colleagues ": Both play together in the band My Sixth Shadow. On 21 October 2007, known registered on its official Myspace page that Alex Vega leaves the band for personal reasons. Who will take his place and whether it is taken is still open.

The song is Getting Closer previously found as an exclusive track only on the Saw III soundtrack.

Ultrawired

On February 7, 2011 Victor Love announced under the subject " Pro -Piracy Model for Music. Please spread. " on the international mailing list of the Pirate Party that Dope Stars Inc. have separated from their label and marketing our own their music in the future. The lyrics of the song "Lies Irae " was created in the following months in a Piratenpad collaboratively with fans. The release of the album was the first album in the history of file-sharing site The Pirate Bay advertised on 30 May 2011 with a picture on the home page. The distribution on the Internet legally possible, because the band has an additional contract with the Italian GEMA counterpart SIAE closed, this distribution explicitly allowed ..
