Dorche at the mill Schwerzko

The Dorche is a river in Schlaubetal Nature Park and flows Dorchetal. The valley is a 131 -hectare Fauna-Flora -Habitat.

Formation

The 7 km long Dorchetal arose from a melt water channel under the ice about 21,000 years ago during the Weichsel glaciation.

Course

The Dorche arises between Ossett and Bomsdorf east of Schwerzko and west of Göhlen. These districts are all from the community Neuzelle. From there, the path leads into the Great Kahn plugs, a little water, to which still fen orchid, a species of orchid found. Next in the little boat plugs and from there to Schwerzko. In the wetlands of the Great Schwerzko pond there is a stock of broadleaf marsh orchid. Here is the Schwerzko mill preserved find of 1420.

On their way forward through a number of small ponds, the former location of the mill means over, the Dorche reached the mill pond of the former Neumühlestrasse. In Kummro is the Mühlensee the Kummeroer mill, past Belgers mill shortly thereafter to reach the monastery pond about two junctions in Neuzelle with the remains of Neuzeller monastery mill. From here the water over ditches direction or is discharged. The laxative monastery trench is also called pottery ditch.

Name interpretation

The two boat plugs are already counted in 1733 to Neuzeller monastery. Kantopp or Cantöpffe, the ponds were also called, refers to the altsorbische konothope or Konotop what horsepond means. The Dorche found 1733 türckel water, in the Middle High German referred Türkel a blue- gray gem, probably the color of the water has been described. The Neuzeller Urmeßtischblatt of 1844 provides the name Kahn pots Brook, later also called Kahn pot flow. The name Dorche seems to have naturalized until the end of the 19th century, by which time also limit flow or Mühlenfließ in the vernacular were common.
