Doris Günther

Doris Guenther ( May 3, 1978 in Zell am See) is a former Austrian snowboarder.

Career

The father Kurt Guenther of 165 cm was from Salzburg hockey league players, so the snowboarder grew up with the winter sports. The first time she was at the age of three years on skis. In 1992, she made ​​the acquaintance snowboard. Günther drove their first competitions 1994. 1996 she made the high school and began a sports science degree, which she pursues limited at present (2006), as it wants to focus on their sport.

In the Snowboard World Championships 2009 in Gangwon was Doris Guenther vice world champion in parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom. In the 2008 /09 World Cup season she won four races and was winner of the overall World Cup.

On April 7, 2011, she announced her retirement from competitive sport.
