Dorsum Zirkel

The dorsum Circle is a 210 km long, known as Mare Imbrium on the dorsum of the Earth's moon. He was named after the German geologist and mineralogist Ferdinand Circle 1976.

South of the northern foothills of the dorsum Circle is a group of very small craters, which owe their name roll their appearance on the sheet 40A1/S1 ( dorsum circles ) of Topophotomap Maps by NASA. These names were adopted by the IAU in 1976.

The names of these craters appear in a list as crater names provided for male and female first names in the Proceedings of the 16th General Assembly of the IAU (Grenoble 1976).
