Dörte Lindner

Dorte Lindner ( born March 22, 1974 in Rostock) is a former German water jumper, which was 2000 Olympic bronze medalist in springboard diving.

Dorte Lindner learned the water still jumping in the GDR at SC Empor Rostock, 1989, she won at the Junior European Championships from the tower. 1990 won her first national title Dorte Lindner of the 1- meter board. In 1991, she won at the Junior World Championships from the 1- meter board and the 3- meter board. At the 1991 World Championships in adult class she took from the 1- meter board the ninth. In 1995, she won at the Universiade from the 1- meter board, at the European Championships she won the 1- meter board the silver medal behind Russian Vera Iljina. In 1997 she won the German championship by 3- meter board in 1998 from the 1- meter board. Also in 1998 she won the Grand Prix Final from the 3- meter board. After her Master title in 2000 by the 3- meter board, she won silver at the European Championships behind Julija Pacha Lina. In synchronized diving from the 3- meter board Iljina and Pacha Lina won before Conny Schmalfuß and Dorte Lindner. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney Dorte Lindner stepped twice. Together with Conny Schmalfuß she finished in seventh place in the synchronized diving, in the individual competition, it reached third place behind the Chinese women Fu Mingxia and Guo Jingjing.
