Dotted and dotless I
İ and ı are two letters of the Latin alphabets of the Turkic languages Turkish, Azerbaijani, Crimean Tatar, Tatar, Kazakh and Kyrgyz.
- The © is an uppercase letter, the lowercase equivalent is the i. It describes the front vowel / i /.
- The ı is a lowercase letter, the uppercase equivalent of the I. It describes the back vowel / ɯ / ( Voiced velar approximant ).

Typographical consequences
Exist with respect to the realization of ligatures for fonts that are intended for Turkish texts, problems in the typography. In the successions of example, f and i and ı, where the i- point in the first case usually merges with a point -like extension of the f -loop, f i ( fi ) and f ı (FI ) is hardly distinguishable.
