Dötzenkopf

Overlooking the Dötzenkopf

The cross- occupied Dötzenkopf is at 1001 m, the lowest Eintausender summit of the mountain bar and thus also one of the lowest peak of the Berchtesgaden Alps. It lies just below the woodpecker heads ( 1285 m), which can be climbed from Dötzenkopf also. Immediately behind the cross rises a knoll, which is also expected to Dötzenkopf. This overlooks the "little" Dötzenkopf to 6 m (ie measures 1007 m). The peaks are located in the southwestern municipality of Bavarian Gmain.

One of the ways to Dötzenkopf leads from Bad Reichenhall, past the 1949 built Bildstöckl Chapel. From Bavarian Gmain from the ascent over the Wappachkopf ( 800 m ) is also to accomplish.

The Dötzenkopf offers a good view of Bad Reichenhall, Salzburg and the surrounding mountains. Also, its flora and fauna applies to hikers than worth seeing.
