Douce Noire Grise

Douce Noire Grise is a red grape variety. It was grown in the French wine region Savoie. Approved it is in the department of Isère. She comes from the historic province of Tarentaise.

Douce Noire Grise was before and even during the phylloxera crisis in the 19th century an important grape variety, however, was hardly able to connect from the 1960s to the early success.

Synonyms

The grape Douce Noire Grise is also known under the name batarde ronde, Douce noire du Bois and Ocanette de la Tarentaise.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In the ampelography the habit is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. She is hairy slightly woolly. The pale green young leaves are hairy only spinnwebig and act bloated.
  • The corrugated sheets are indented five lobes and clear. The petiole is always closed. The blade is serrated blunt. The teeth are set very far in comparison to the varieties. The leaf surface (also called lamina ) is vesicular coarse.
  • The cylindrical to conical bunch is medium and loose-. The roundish berries are medium in size and of a bluish-black color.

The early sprouting grape ripens about 10 days after Chasselas and is thus within the red grapes early maturing, so that they can mature into relatively cool layers. The yield is low.

Douce Noire Grise is a variety of the noble vine (Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphrodite flowers and is thus self-pollinator.
