Doug Mohns

Douglas Allen "Diesel" Mohns ( born December 13, 1933, Capreol, Ontario, † February 7, 2014 ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who in his playing days from 1950 to 1975 among others for the Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, Minnesota North Stars, Atlanta Flames and Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League has played.

Career

Doug Mohns began his career as a hockey player with the Barrie Flyers, for he held until 1953 in the Ontario Hockey Association was active from 1950 and with whom he in 1951 and 1953 respectively to the Memorial Cup won. Then the defender signed a contract with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League, for which he was on the ice, the following eleven years before he was released to the Chicago Blackhawks on June 8, 1964 in exchange for Reggie Fleming and Ab McDonald. For Chicago played poppy another seven years in the NHL before he was transferred in the course of the 1970/71 season to the Minnesota North Stars, for whom he ran aground until 1973. During his time in Minnesota he took in 1972 for the seventh and last time in his career on a NHL All-Star Game in part. After a year at the Atlanta Flames this sold him before the season 1974/75 at the newly established Washington Capitals franchise, whose first captain he was before going into the NHL in 1975 at the age of 42, ended his career after 22 seasons.
