Douglas Spencer

Douglas Spencer ( born February 10, 1910 in Princeton, Illinois, † October 6, 1960 in Los Angeles, California ), actually William Henry Mesenkop, was an American actor.

Life

Spencer worked from the late 1930s as a stand-in for Ray Milland. This meant that he received minor roles in many films of Milland. First, if it were little more than extras roles and it passed ten years before he was first in the credits of a film. He had a major supporting role in 1948 as a doctor in the film noir The night has a thousand eyes with Edward G. Robinson in the lead role. In Western Shane, he starred opposite Alan Ladd and Jack Palance a more supporting role. His most famous role was the reporter Ned Scott in the science fiction film classic The Thing from Another World. After that he played in the B- Movie This Island Earth IV does not respond and put Harry Kraler in The Diary of Anne Frank dar. Shortly before his death of complications from diabetes, he played a few guest roles in television series such as West of Santa Fe and Bonanza.
