Douglas Warren (bishop)

Douglas Joseph Warren ( born March 21, 1919 in Canowindra, † February 6, 2013 ) was Bishop of Wilcannia -Forbes.

Life

Douglas Joseph Warren was consecrated by Cardinal Pietro Biondi Fumasoni on December 20, 1942 Priests of the Diocese of Wilcannia -Forbes. He received his doctorate Doctor of Divinity (DD). He was vicar general of the diocese of Wilcannia -Forbes.

Warren was born on June 16, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Wilcannia -Forbes and Titular Bishop of Aquae novae in Numidia. The Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal Norman Thomas Gilroy consecrated him on 27 July of the same year to the bishop; Co-consecrators were Bernard Denis Stewart, Bishop of Sandhurst, and Bryan Gallagher, Bishop of Port Pirie.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 26 September 1967 Bishop of Wilcannia -Forbes. On 30 March 1994 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.

At the time of his death he was the oldest Catholic bishop in Australia.
