The Downtown Manhattan Heliport (also: Wall Street Heliport ) is a heliport in the Financial District of Manhattan in New York City, on the Pier 6 in the East River.

Location

The heliport is located near the Brooklyn Bridge and Wall Street with New York Stock Exchange stock market. Since opening in 1960 the property of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey standing, he was the New York City Economic Development Corporation ( NYCEDC ) passed in 2007. The NYCEDC commits the company Saker Aviation Services Inc. (formerly: First Flight ) by public tender for the management and modernization of heliports. Saker undertook two million U.S. dollars to invest in the Heliport.

Use

Daily fly around 160 helicopters in the Heliport. The majority of flights are passenger transportation to local airports such as Teterboro Airport, Newark Airport or John F. Kennedy International Airport and tourist sightseeing flights.

The heliport is equipped with an arrival and departure terminal, but has no means for refueling the helicopter.
