Draparnaudia

The genus Draparnaudia is the only genus of the family Draparnaudiidae from the subordination of terrestrial snails ( gastropod ). The six species of the genus or family are located in New Caledonia and the New Hebrides. The genus is named after Jacques Philippe Raymond Draparnaud.

Features

The housings are linksgewunden and of medium size. The housing shape ranges from conical to spherical. The mouth edge is always more or less bent back. The jaw is crescent-shaped, with little vertical striation. The sole has a median pit. The kidney is relatively long with open ureters ( ureters ). In hermaphroditic genital apparatus of the penis only has a short to very short flagellum. The Penisretraktor is where above the flagellum. The comparatively long prostate has many acini. Branches of the vas deferens in a distance from the albumin gland. The Spermovidukt is of medium length.

Occurrence, lifestyle and dissemination

The species of the genus Draparnaudia occur only in New Caledonia and the New Hebrides (Vanuatu). The occurrence in Vanuatu is even attributed to anthropogenic procrastination.
