Dreadzone

Dreadzone is a British band, founded in 1993. Their music is an eclectic mix of dub, reggae, techno, folk and rock.

Since the establishment Dreadzone have released six studio albums and several live and compilation albums. The biggest hit of the band was the 1995 single released Little Britain, which pushed forward in the UK at # 20 and in Germany at # 63 of the singles chart.

History

The band was founded by Greg " Dread " Roberts, drummer of the band Big Audio Dynamite, and the musician and sound engineer Tim Bran 1993. Roberts and Bran brought the bassist Leo Williams and keyboardist Dan Donovan in the band.

After several singles released the first studio album was released in 1993 on Creation Records 360 °. The second album Second Light appeared in 1995 in the major label Virgin Records. In January 1996, Dreadzone with the single Little Britain had a chart hit in the UK and in Germany. The following year the album was released Biological Radio.

For John Peel Dreadzone took between 1993 and 2001 on six Peel Sessions. In 2000, MC Spee joined the band. Their 2001 release, the fourth album sound. The fifth album Once Upon A Time followed in 2005. On 26 October 2006, died Greg Roberts brother Steve, who had supported as a guitarist Dreadzone at various live performances.

In 2007, Chris Compton and Chris Oldfield were announced as new band members. In 2009, the sixth studio album Eye on the Horizon appeared. 2011 appeared the best-of album, The Best Of Dreadzone: The Good The Bad And The Dread.
