Dream Evil

Dream Evil is a Swedish metal band.

History

The Beginnings of Dream Evil go back to the autumn of 1999.

The Swedish producer Fredrik Nordström ( Dimmu Borgir, Hammerfall, In Flames, The Haunted ) harbored a desire to own band. During a holiday in Greece, he met guitarist Gus G. familiar with the Greek and invited him shortly afterwards to Sweden a. Soon the two were sitting in the studio by Fredrik Nordström and enrolled at the first song. When the first skeletons of the songs were, they were looking for more members for the band. The drums were manned by Snowy Shaw (including ex- King Diamond ), the song with Niklas Isfeldt ( Background singer of Hammerfall ) and the bass with Peter Stalfors. After some back and forth the founding members got together and called themselves Dragonslayer. In Century Media was found a record label, suggesting that the four musicians but to call their first album Dragonslayer and to change the name of the band. After brief consideration, this request was complied and changed the band's name in Dream Evil. The first album is showered in April 2002 with positive criticism, and several festival appearances followed.

Shortly after the release of their second album Evilized it came in February / March of 2003 to a European tour with Hammerfall. The MCD Children of the Night was released in October of 2003, and contained four songs as well as a live video. The third album of the band, The Book of Heavy Metal, came in March of 2004 on the market. Shortly thereafter it came to changes in the line-up: Gus G. left Dream Evil and was replaced by Mark U Black. Together with their new guitarist toured as the opening act for Dream Evil Saxon by the concert halls. Mid-2005 had Niklas Isfeldt health problems with his voice that almost ended his career. He recovered, however, and was a few months later resume his work. In January 2006, left Snowy Shaw, a month before the recording of the fourth album, after an internal dispute the band and took all of his songs written with. Nevertheless, he and Dream Evil did announce that the separation took place without any bad blood.

End of June 2006, the band announced on their website that they had with Pat Power (aka Patrik Jerksten ) found a new drummer and working on a new album called United; it finally appeared in the autumn of the same year. In late 2007, Dream Evil announced that guitarist Mark U Black has left the band for family reasons and is replaced by Dannee Demon, which, however, in 2013 for personal reasons left the band and was replaced by the returning Mark U Black. Mid-2008 Gold Medal was published in Metal. The double album includes new songs as well as old bonus tracks, mostly from Japan. It is accompanied by a DVD that contains a live recording from Sticky Fingers concert in Gothenburg on November 25, 2006 in addition to videos and interviews.
