Gus G.

Gus G. aka Kostas Karamitroudis (Greek: Κωνσταντίνος " Κώστας " Καραμητρούδης ) (born 12 September 1980 in Thessaloniki ) is a Greek heavy metal guitarist. He plays in his band Firewind and Ozzy Osbourne. He also worked for Mystic Prophecy, Nightrage, Arch Enemy and Dream Evil.

Career

Gus G. began to play the guitar at age ten. Early influences were Peter Frampton and Al Di Meola. With 18 years left Gus G. Greece in order to enroll at Berklee College of Music. This training he broke off after a few weeks and started to make a name for himself as a metal guitarist. In particular, the contact with Joe Stump, whom he had met at Berklee, brought him forward musically.

In 2005 he replaced Christopher Amott temporarily at Arch Enemy, played on the Ozzfest and also on the album Doomsday Machine, the piece Taking Back My Soul. In 2009 he was the successor of Zakk Wylde Ozzy Osbourne's band in 2010 and played on Osbourne's album Scream. With Firewind he published seven regular albums, including 2012 Few Against Many.

On March 17, 2014 was released I Am The Fire, his first solo album. Then are Mats Leven (vocals, Candlemass ), Jeff Scott Soto (vocals, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, ex -Axel Rudi Pell ), Michael Starr (vocals, Steel Panther ), Tom S. Englund (vocals, Evergrey ), Alexia Rodriguez ( singing, Eyes Set to Kill ), Jacob Bunton (vocals, eagle), Joey "Chicago" Walser (vocals, Devour The Day ), Blake Allison (vocals, Devour The Day ), Billy Sheehan (bass, Mr. Big, The Winery Dogs ), David Ellefson (bass, Megadeth ), Marty O'Brien (bass, Lita Ford ), Daniel Erlandsson (drums, Arch Enemy ), and Jeff Friedl (drums, A Perfect Circle ) to hear. For the first song, My Will Be Done ( with Mats Leven ), already a music video was produced.
