Doomsday Machine (album)

Occupation

Doomsday Machine is the sixth studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy, and the third, to which Angela Gossow took over the vocals. It was released on 26 July 2005 in the U.S. and August 22 in Europe.

Music style

The album continues the musical path from Anthems of Rebellion. The intro is held and shall take instrumental music on the album. "Nemesis" is similar to the song "We Will Rise" from the previous album. A catchy chorus that calls for unity of content on the metal scene, alternates with verses. Striking is otherwise still the nearly four -minute " Hybrids of Steel", which does not include vocals. At the end of "Skeleton Dance" death poem by Ōta Dōkan is quoted.

After this album, Christopher Amott took a break to continue his studies. He returned the follow-up album Rise of the Tyrant again in 2007, the band returned.

There is both an LP version of the album as well as a limited edition with bonus DVD. The DVD includes several live clips and the music video for the song included on the album "Nemesis".

The album reached # 81 on the album charts in the United States, in Sweden, it climbed to number 23 on the album charts and # 2 on the Hardrock-/Metal-Charts.
