Dream of You ( German: , Dreaming of you ') is the first single release of the German musical project Schiller, in cooperation with the German pop singer Peter Heppner, from their second studio album, world tour.

Emergence and Artwork

Was written the song by Peter Heppner, Christopher and Mirko von Schlieffen Deylen, it was produced by Christopher Deylen and Mirko von Schlieffen. The main song is from Peter Heppner, in the background the voice of the singer Mindy Kumbalek Goethes Erben and the choir is to hear the voice of the German classical singer Isgaard. The single was released under the label zeitgeist. For the single exist five different CD cover, which all differ only by their color: to see is always a cloud in the middle of the cover. The recordings took place in the recording studio hamburger Sleeping Room.

Publication and Promotion

The first release of the song took place in Germany on 28 May 2001. In the same year a European release took place in 2002 was followed by the publication in Canada and the United States. There are several different maxi-single releases to the song, which contain all the various remixes of Dream of You as a B-side. Except for the two - track single, there is the song " beach music " by Schiller included as a B-side.

Background information

For Peter Heppner, it is after the song The Flood of 1998 only the second single release outside of his project Wolfsheim. After Dream of You Schiller and Heppner published three years later in January 2004, a second single, Life ... I Feel You.

Content

The lyrics to Dream of You is written entirely in English. Musically, the song moves in the field of ambient and electronic dance music. The song describes how someone always raises the question of whether he really wants to spend his life lonely and alone until the end of his life and only woman of his dreams, he will never have dreams.

Music Video

The music video for Dream of You was shot on a beach in Barcelona. Throughout the video several actions can be seen. For the most part Heppner can be seen at various locations as he sings the song. In between, other actions are always visible. Inter alia is always a dancer to see a man of his dog running on the beach or several couples.

The length of the video is 4:13 minutes. Was directed by Marcus Sternberg, produced the video of the Blue Medien GmbH. 2012 presented a film crew the music video exactly along the lines after.

Reception

Charts and chart positions

In Germany Dream of You rose in the first week at number 13 of the singles chart. Overall, the song could stay 14 weeks in the Top 100, two weeks of which it remained quite as successful in the top 20 is not the song rose in Austria only to position 49, but it was three weeks longer in the top 100 hold. At worst it ran in Switzerland, there could only be achieved 78th place as the maximum position. By 2012, Dream of You was the most successful chart hit for Schiller, after 11 years it was abgelößt of the single sun.
