The Drewitzer lake (or Alt Schwerin Lake ) is located north of Alt Schwerin in Mecklenburg Lake District. It is 4.6 kilometers long and between 200 and 2000 meters wide. It is surrounded by the nature reserve Drewitzer lake with Lübowsee and Dreiersee in the Natural Park Nossentin / Schwinzer Heath. He is a very calcareous freshwater lake, which is not directly connected to other lakes. Nearby are the Plau and Samoter lake. The Drewitzer lake was formed from a glacial meltwater channel. It is traversed by calcareous groundwater and has no natural aboveground inflow or outflow. The western shore is affected by the federal highway 19.

Directly on the lake, a hunting lodge for the state Erich Honecker in what was then a state hunting area Nossentin Heath was built in 1984.
