Dublin University Magazine

From January 1833 the Dublin University magazines have a monthly magazine for literature and politics appeared. It had patterned magazines such as Blackwood 's Edinburgh Magazine in Edinburgh. It was created by students, including Isaac Butt, founded in Trinity College, Dublin. The first editor was Charles Stanford.

The magazine has published numerous works of Irish writers such as William Carleton, Mortimer Collins, Elliot Warburton, Thomas Meredith, David Masson, William Archer Butler, James Clarence Mangan and Samuel Ferguson and translations, among others from the German by John Anster (translator of Faust ).

1861 bought Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu the magazine and was its editor until 1869. Many of his numerous stories first appeared in the magazine.

The magazine was discontinued in 1882.
