Dubthach Dóeltenga

Dubthach [' dufθax ] (" the Dark " ) is in the Ulster Cycle of Irish Celtic mythology, the name of a warrior from Ulster.

Mythology

Dubthach, anxious for his sharp tongue with the nickname dael (also Doel ) Ulad ( " Beetle of Ulster " ) or daeltenga (also dóeltenga ) ( " Dung Beetle tongue " ), is a fearsome warrior. From Celtchar mac Uthechair he has received the spear Luin Cheltchair that is so bloodthirsty that he has to be cooled in a boiler with toxic broth so as not to burn its wearer.

In Táin Bó Cuailnge ( " The Cattle Raid of Cooley " ) so he fights together with the Connachtern against the Ulter with their main hero Cú Chulainn.
