Dục Đức

Emperor Duc Đức ( Hán tự :育 德; born February 23, 1852 in Hue, † July 30, 1883 ibid ) the fifth emperor of the Vietnamese Nguyễn Dynasty was. On July 20, 1883, he was enthroned as Emperor and held this office for three days until he was deposed on 23 July 1883. His real name was Nguyễn Phúc Ung Ái, Nguyễn Phúc also Ung Chan. Biography

Duc Đức was a son of Prince Nguyễn Phúc Hồng Y and a nephew of his predecessor childless Tự Đức, from whom he had been adopted at the age of two years. When his predecessor died, Vietnam was in crisis: On the one hand it was under the pressure of France, on the other hand, under which the mighty mandarins who wanted to maintain the claim of the Imperial House on Himmlischkeit.

Duc Đức had made ​​many unpopular: His handling of players and artists was seen as untraditional. Not even Tự Đức had wished him to succeed - however, this is controversial. Family

Duc Đức was married to Phan Thi Điểu (8 September 1855-27. December 1906 ), which received the title Tú Hoàng Minh Hau. He had eleven sons, of whom only four survived infancy (the title " Công " is roughly equal " Prince" ):
