Duluth [ dəlu ː ​​θ ] is a city in Gwinnett County in the U.S. state of Georgia, in the United States, and is adjacent to Lawrenceville the second largest city in the county.

The spatial boundaries are the same in two other counties: Fulton County and Forsyth County, but have the same postal address.

Your name bears the city only since 1871. Those days was originally called Howell Crossing City, renamed after the city of Duluth, Minnesota. This name goes back to Daniel Grey Solon, Sieur du Lhut (1636-1710), a French captain. Presumably, he was one of the first European explorers of this area in Minnesota.
