Duncan Suttles

Duncan Suttles ( born December 21, 1945 in San Francisco, USA ) is a Canadian chess player.

Duncan Suttles 1967 International Master, is correspondence chess grandmaster since 1973 and Grand Master since 1982. He won the Canadian championship in 1969 and played in eight chess Olympiads for Canada ( 1964-1984 ). His best percentage yield point he scored in 1968 at the Olympics in Lugano with 11.5 points from 17 matches on the second board. At the tournament in San Antonio in 1972 Suttles finished seventh and won it his final norm for the Grandmaster title, the year after he won the U.S. Open.

Duncan Suttles also played correspondence chess. He won the Memorial Tournament Eino Heilimo II ( 1978-1982 ). Among the 17 participants were Kaarle Ojanen ( 10 points), Juliane dog (8 points) and former Vice Correspondence Chess World Champion Lucius Endzelīns (6 points). Duncan Suttles retired in the 1980s from tournament chess and worked as a computer, among other things, as an equity analyst and in chess programming.
