Dunstaffnage Castle

Dunstaffnage Castle was built around the year 1220 by Duncan Dubhgall, son of the Earl Somerled, on a large flat rock overlooking the Firth of Lorne in the Scottish county of Argyll as a mighty fortress for the MacDougall clan. Dunstaffnage 1309 of Robert the Bruce was taken and remained several years in royal possession.
