History

The Durham Wasps played from 1982 to 1996 during which all existence in the British Hockey League, the then highest British league. In the years 1985, 1986, 1989, 1991 and 1992, they won their respective league titles. As a UK representative joined the team at the international level several times in the Hockey European Cup to, but could not convince there. In the years 1984, 1987, 1988 and 1990, the Durham Wasps each won the Autumn Cup. In 1996, the club was disbanded.
