Duško Savanović

Dusko Savanović ( Serbian Cyrillic Душко Савановић; born September 5, 1983 in Belgrade ) [Note 1] is a Serbian professional basketball player. The 2.04 m wide power forward stands since 2011 when Turkish club Anadolu Efes SK under contract. He is also a member of the Serbian national team.

Savanović began his career at FMP Železnik Belgrade, in which the second team he first came into use in the 2004/05 season. He then moved to KK Borac Čačak, but still returned back during the season to Železnik, whose first team at that time was called Reflex Belgrade. With this club he won the 2006 Adriatic Basketball Association, where Savanović himself had achieved both internal team with the most points and most rebounds backed up and was voted the best league rookie of the year.

In October 2006, he moved to Russia to UNICS Kazan. There Savanović achieved in 2007 in the Super League finals series and the Russian Cup in the final game, but failed there in each of CSKA Moscow. After two years with Cajasol Seville followed in 2010, a change within Spain to Power Electronics Valencia, where he first played in the Euro League. Savanović reached the quarter-finals with Valencia and was elected to the All- euro League Second Team of the season 2010/11.

For the Serbian national Savanović took a long time not taken into account. In qualifying for the European Championship 2009, he was first used, but only at the World Cup 2010, Serbia who graduated in 4th place, he first participated in a major championship. Also for the European Championship 2011 Savanović was nominated after he had become a key player of the team.
