Dysganus

Dysganus is a known only by dental findings genus of bird Beck dinosaurs ( ornithopods ) from the group of Ceratopsidae.

A total of four species have been described by Edward Drinker Cope in 1876: D. bicarinatus, D. encaustus, D. and D. haydenianus peiganus. A more systematic investigation is not possible. All species are considered nomina dubia, ie the findings are too sparse for a more accurate classification. The genus name means " rough tooth enamel ."

The findings are from the Judith River Group in the U.S. state of Montana and be dated to the Late Cretaceous to an age of about 75 million years.

After Agathaumas and Polyonax Dysganus was the third species described by Cope of ceratopsians, however, all receive extremely sparse. A more detailed picture of the appearance of these animals could be seen only around 15 years later with the discovery of Triceratops.
