Džepčište

Džepčište ( Macedonian Џепчиште; Albanian: Xhepçishti ) is a village north-east of Tetovo in the north- western Macedonia in the border area with Kosovo. Since 2004 she has been incorporated into the Opština (municipality ) Tetovo. It lies on the main road from Tetovo to Kosovo at an average altitude of 444 meters and has 8166 inhabitants (as of May 2007).

History

Džepčište was on April 16, 1990 birthplace of the Party for Democratic Prosperity, the first Albanian party in Macedonia.

Economy

In Džepčište is a fabrication of finished plaster of the Renova Group.

Culture and Sport

In the village there is a museum called its owner, the architect Simeon Zlatev than the smallest ethnological museum in the world. Covering an area of 7.2 square meters, about 1150 artefacts from across Macedonia will be issued, which Zlatev has accumulated in 30 years.

In the village there are two Macedonian Orthodox churches and a mosque.

  • Mother of God Church, dedicated to the Holy Mother of God Mary

The local football club FK Renova Džepčište plays in the Macedonian league, the Prva League.
