Dzintars Zirnis

Dzintars Zirnis ( born April 25, 1977 in Riga) is a Latvian football player.

Zirnis played at the beginning of his career for the FK Flaminko Jurmala, Riga and Kvadrat Pārdaugava. In 1997, the defender after a short interlude at the Russian club Baltika Kaliningrad to Liepaja Metalurgs. With Metalurgs he won the 2005 Latvian Championship. With this championship Liepaja Metalurgs broke the dominance of Skonto Riga. Since the regained independence in 1991 Skonto Riga of Latvia had won until the year 2004, all the national championship.

His debut for the Latvian national football team gave Zirnis on August 19, 1997 against Azerbaijan. The game ended 0-0. He participated in the 2004 European Football Championship and some here had a brief appearance - in the game against Germany, he came on in the 92nd minute.
