E Street Band

The E Street Band is an American musical group.

History

The E Street Band began in October 1972, officially starting in September 1974. She was inactive between 1989 and 1999, except for a brief reunion in 1995. My bandleader is the U.S. rock star Bruce Springsteen. The name of the band resulted from the fact that one of the former musicians (David Sancious, keyboards) had grown up in the "E Street" in Belmar, New Jersey and the band occasionally allowed to practice there in his mother's house.

Since 2002, Soozie Tyrell plays in all performances and album recordings Acoustic guitar, violin, background vocals, but is not a regular member of the band. After the death of Danny Federici in April 2008, the keyboardist is replaced by Charles Giordano, who accompanied Bruce Springsteen already during the Sessions Tour 2006. However Giordano 's like Tyrell not a regular member of the band. Federici had his last appearance on 20 March 2008 in Indianapolis. During the "Working on a Dream Tour" 2009, the then 18 -year-old Jay Weinberg represented his Father Max at some concerts, including during parts of the Europe leg.

On 18 June 2011, the saxophonist Clarence Clemons died as a result of the stroke, he had six days earlier suffered. During the " Wrecking Ball" tours in 2012 and 2013, his nephew Jake Clemons played on saxophone.
