E. A. Dupont

Ewald André Dupont (birth name: Andreas Ewald Dupont, born December 25, 1891 in Zeitz, † December 12, 1956 in Los Angeles ) was a German film director and screenwriter.

Life and work

Dupont worked as a journalist at a film section of the BZ at noon with before he wrote screenplays for Richard Oswald, Joe May and Paul Leni. His directorial debut was in 1918 a twelve-part detective series with the performer Max Landa. On behalf of and for Henny Porten 1921 he created a film adaptation of The Geierwally. Peak of his film work was Vaudeville (1925 ) with Emil Jannings and Lya de Putti, a drama of jealousy in the circus environment.
