Earl of Iveagh

Earl of Iveagh is a hereditary British title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family of Guinness.

Ancestral home of the family is Elveden Hall in Elveden, Suffolk.

Award

The title was awarded in 1919 the Irish businessman and philanthropist Edward Guinness.

Subordinate title

With the earldom of the title Viscount Elveden, of Elveden was awarded in the County of Suffolk at the same time, which also belongs to the Peerage of the United Kingdom. This title will be out of the title as a courtesy title heirs.

Even before this ceremony was Guinness support the title Baronet, of Castle Knock in the County of Dublin ( created 1885), Baron Iveagh, of Iveagh in the County of Down ( created 1891), and Viscount Iveagh, of Iveagh in the County of Down ( created in 1905 ). These are now also subordinate title of the earldom. The barony and the Viscountswürde belong to the peerage of the United Kingdom.

Since the first Earl, a son of Sir Benjamin Guinness, 1st Baronet, of Ashford was, the present Earl is a possible heir whose baronet.
