Life and career

Arthur Guinness is a member of the famous, originating from Ireland Guinness family. His father was Arthur Guinness, 3rd Earl of Iveagh.

On June 18, 1992, he inherited when his father died the title of Earl of Iveagh and the associated seat in the House of Lords, which he lost to the House of Lords Act 1999 in 1999. In the second half of the 1990s Guinness was with a then estimated fortune of £ 2 billion to be the richest person in the world who was younger than 30 years. Currently, he is ranked 52 in the Sunday Times Rich List.

Guinness lives on the 91 km ² estate Elvenden in Suffolk, which is owned by the Earls of Iveagh for more than 110 years, and has agriculture there. The former main building Elvenden Hall is, however, no longer inhabited. The operation is considered the largest estate in the United Kingdom. The former headquarters of the family in Ireland, Farmleigh, Guinness sold in 1999 to the Irish State using this now for representative purposes.

He is married to Claire Hazell since 2001. The couple has a son.
