Earl of Onslow

Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Shropshire, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is supported by the Onslow family.

The family seat was formerly Clandon House in Surrey.

Award

The title was posted on June 19, 1801, awarded to George Onslow, 4th Baron Onslow. This was about 20 years as a member of the House of Commons and had several posts have had on the farm.

Subordinate title

The great-grandfather of the first Earl was also a prominent politician. He also served as Speaker of the House of Commons and Chancellor of the Exchequer. In 1716 he was created Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Shropshire and of Clandon in the County of Surrey, levied.
