Earl Strom

Earl "Yogi " current ( * December 15, 1927 in Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, † 10 June 1994 ) was a basketball referee of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame 1995. He is one of 13 referees who were taken there.

Career

Current was active over a period of 32 years as a referee in the U.S. professional league. In his career he worked in more than 2,400 regular season games and 295 games in play-off as referee. These also include 29 games in the NBA finals and finals of the ABA. In the years 1967 and 1968 power held the position of so-called NBA crew chief, a senior official in the referee team of three persons.
