Earthlings (film)

Earthlings ( Earthlings ) is a documentary, produced by Shaun Monson, who also wrote the screenplay and directed. Earthlings was co-produced by Persia White. The spokesperson of the film is Hollywood actor and animal rights advocate Joaquin Phoenix. A large part of the soundtrack comes from Moby.

Summary

Production

The production of Earthlings took five years. What began as a series of public announcements regarding spaying and neutering pets, evolved into a film, which deals with many aspects related to animals. Writer and director Shaun Monson began to make recordings in animal shelters in South Central, Long Beach and North Hollywood. The relevant filming was completed quickly. Monson began to be interested in the problems of the food industry and in laboratory animal practice. During this time he got access to footage of various animal welfare organizations and began to cut the film together. Gradually recordings of speaker Joaquin Phoenix were made and created the soundtrack. In addition to the music provided by Moby available parts of the soundtrack were also partially composed especially for this movie.

The premiere of Earthlings in 2005 during the Artivist Film Festival, where the film was named best documentary, followed by a performance as part of the Boston International Film Festival, where it received the award for the best content. On the San Diego Film Festival Earthlings was also honored as Best Documentary. Joaquin Phoenix received the Humanitarian Award for his participation in this film.

On November 4, 2005 Earthlings appeared on DVD in NTSC format in English.
