East Pakistan

East Pakistan ( Bengali: পূর্ব পাকিস্তান Purbo Pākistān; Urdu مشرقی پاکستان Mashriqī Pākistān ) was a provincial state of Pakistan, which existed from 1955 to 1971.

It occupies the eastern part of the historic region of Bengal, which was founded in 1947 because of the Muslim majority in the partition of British India to the eastern part of the country of Pakistan. East Pakistan became Bangladesh in 1971 as a result of the war under the name of Bangladesh 's independence.
