Easter (Ger. Ostern ) is an album by the Patti Smith Group, which was released in March 1978 on Arista Records. Produced by Jimmy Iovine album is considered to be the commercial breakthrough of the group. The single from the album Because the Night, which was written by Smith and Bruce Springsteen, reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Background
