The Eastern Highlands are a mountain range in the east African country of Zimbabwe and form the border with Mozambique.

The Eastern Highlands are composed of three mountain ranges: Nyanga with its national park ( in the north, with the highest peak in Zimbabwe, Mount Nyangani, 2592 m, and the second highest waterfall in Africa, the Mutarazi Falls) as well as the leading to Mozambique Honde Valley, Bvumba ( in the center, with the city of Mutare ) and the Chimanimani National Park territory ( in the south). The area is sparsely populated, overgrown with grass or forest existed.

The altitudes provide a cooler and wetter climate than other parts of Africa. The mountain range serves as the watershed towards the Indian Ocean as the Zimbabwean river Sava.

Larger areas correspond to the type of the East African savannah forest with characteristic Miombo Brachystegia. As representatives of the rich fauna may be mentioned tiara and white-throated guenon and from the birdlife Glanzhaubenturako and crown eagle in addition to a variety of skinks, geckos, lizards, frogs, toads and snakes.
