Ebbe Schwartz

Ebbe Schwartz ( May 3, No 1901; † October 19, 1964 on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii ) was a versatile Danish football official. He was a founder UEFA President of the European Football Association.

Career

Schwartz was from 1913 until his death in 1964 member of the Danish football club AB Copenhagen, where he held from 1948 to 1955 the office of Treasurer. From 1950 until his death he was president of the Danish Football Association DBU. Furthermore, Schwartz was from 1954 to 1962 the first President of the European Football Association UEFA, then from 1962 to 1964 Member of the Executive Committee and Vice President of the World Football Association FIFA

A native of the bourgeois sport movement Copenhagen Ebbe Schwartz was the time of his UEFA presidency as an excellent mediator. Contemporaries saw him as a comradely and soulful fellow man. Hence probably originated the claim that he was " soft " on. As an avid sports person he was, inter alia, Visitors to the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964. On his journey home, during a stopover in Hawaii, overtook the popular sports official death. The then 63 -year-old only Ebbe Schwartz died of a heart attack.
