Ebert Van Buren

Ebert Henry Van Buren ( born December 6, 1924 in Tela, Honduras ) is a former American professional American football player in the National Football League. He played fullback for the Philadelphia Eagles. Ebert Van Buren is the younger brother of Steve Van Buren, who was taken in 1965 in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Career

Ebert Van Buren was born in Honduras. After the early death of his parents, he was raised in the age of six by his grandparents in New Orleans. Like his brother, Steve Van Buren, he studied at Louisiana State University, where he played from 1947 to 1950 American football for the Tigers. After the 1949 season, Van Buren played with his team in the Sugar Bowl, however, the one clearly lost to the University of Oklahoma with 35:0

In 1951 Van Buren was from the professional team of his older brother, the Philadelphia Eagles, drafted in the first round in seventh place. Coach of the team was Wayne Millner. Van Buren played there in the offense of the team alongside his brother fullback. After three years, Ebert Van Buren ended his professional career in Philadelphia.
