Eccellenza

Excellenza (Italian for excellence in South Tyrol Oberliga ) is founded in 1991, 6 football league in Italy. It is a Regional with 28 divisions, which are organized geographically. 11 regions have a division. Piemonte, Valle d'Aosta, Veneto, Tuscany, Sicily, Lazio, Emilia-Romagna and Campania have 2 divisions. Lombardy has 3 divisions.

Ascent and Descent

After the regular season is complete, the top-ranked teams in each division automatically promoted to the D series.

Each division also allows another team to the national playoffs, which take place in late May and early June to participate. Some choose divisions the second placed team directly, while other divisions to schedule a series of playoff games among the top teams in the divisions to determine the national playoff participants. Once the 28 national playoff participants are fixed, they occur in the knockout system against each other, and the 14 winners will take part in a second round, which will again be held in the knockout system. The seven winners of the second round rise also in the D series. Another place in Serie D will be awarded to the winner of the " Coppa Italia Dilettanti " (Italian Amateur Cup ) which is a one year permanent competition between all Italian teams of the two leagues Excellenza and Promozione ( the underlying 7 soccer league ) is. Total increase to 36 teams, to replace the 36 relegated from the Serie D.
