Economic Union (political party)

The Economic Association was a group community of several anti-Semites 'and peasants' parties in the Reichstag of the German Empire.

History

After the general election in 1903 the Reichstag deputies Max Liebermann von Sonnenberg founded the Economic Association, as a group community of German Social Party (DSP) and the Christian Social Party ( CSP ) as well as members of the Agrarian League ( BDL ) and the Bavarian Farmers' Federation ( BB). The group pushed for special duties on British goods. You should protect the competitiveness of German companies that were threatened by a wave of bankruptcies. Agriculture should be protected with high tariff protection against the decline in prices on the global agricultural market. Since the general election in 1907 the group also included right-wing MPs who were explicitly taken up in the election campaign as a candidate of the Economic Association. The fraction was usually regarded the Empire as a collection of anti-Semitic forces.
