Eddie Johnson (racing driver)

Edward " Eddie" Johnson ( born February 10, 1919 in Richmond, Virginia; † 30 July 1974 in Cleveland, Ohio) was an American race car driver.

Career

Eddie Johnson played in his career 33 races in the AAA National Series and the USAC series. He achieved his best result with a third place in 1959 at the Circuit of Trenton. 15 times he was with the 500 miles of Indianapolis at the start. His best finish he reached the sixth place in 1960, so he made while making a point for the driver standings of the Formula 1 World Championship since the 500 - mile race from 1950 to 1960 belonged to the World Cup.

Eddie Johnson died in 1974 in a plane crash near Cleveland.
