Edmonton Capital Region

The Edmonton Capital Region (ECR), also commonly referred to Alberta Capital Region, Greater Edmonton or Metro Edmonton, is a metropolitan area around the city of Edmonton, the provincial capital of Alberta.

The ECR based usually on the census area Edmonton. However, there are a variety of borders for various administrative tasks. The ECR is the northernmost metropolitan territory of Canada and is located in the heart of Alberta.   • Three First Nations (Alexander First Nation IR No. or Alexander. 134, Enoch Cree Nation # 440 and Stony Plain No IR. 135 and Paul First Nation or Wabamun IR No. 133A and 133B ).

Contrary to popular belief there ( the western parts of ) Lamont County and Elk Iceland National Park are not included in Edmonton CMA. Only after the division of the transport links in the provincial government Lamont County but is part of the CMA.

Former municipalities
