Edmonton is a city in the U.S. state of Kentucky, and the county seat of Metcalfe County.
History
The site of the future town was the first of Edmund P. Rogers, a Revolutionary War veteran from Virginia, in 1800, described and taken into possession. In 1836, the city was founded on gestelltem Rogers disposal area as a trading post in 1860 and declared the County Seat.
Personalities
The Southern rock band Black Stone Cherry, and the country-rock band The Kentucky Headhunters ( Grammy in 1990 for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal category ) come from Edmonton.
