Life

Edward was a son of František Weyr, who was born in 1820 in Náchod and from 1855 was a mathematics teacher at a school in Prague; the other son was Emil Weyr. Edward attended the school where his father worked. He then studied at the Polytechnic and later at the Karl- Ferdinand University. Then went to the University of Göttingen, where he received his doctorate in 1873 ( "On algebraic space curves "). Then he studied under Charles Hermite and Joseph Serret. Next we went to Prague.
