Edward Faulks, Baron Faulks

Edward Peter Lawless Faulks, Baron Faulks QC ( born August 19, 1950) is an English Barrister and Solicitor General.

Youth and Education

Faulks is the son of Peter Ronald Faulks MC and Pamela Faulks (born Lawless ). The writer Sebastian Faulks is his younger brother. He was educated at Wellington College in Berkshire and Jesus College, Oxford, where he graduated with a MA. In 1973 he was admitted to the bar.

Career

Faulks was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1996. From 1996 to 2000 he was an assistant recorder and recorder from 2000. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He became Bencher in 2002. From 2002 to 2004 he was chairman of the Professional Negligence Bar Association and from 2005-06 Adviser to the Department for Constitutional Affairs.

In 2010, he was raised as Baron Faulks for Life Peer.

Other activities

Faulks is co-editor of " Local Authority Liabilities".

Personal

Faulks married in 1990 Catherine Frances Turner. They have two sons.
