Edward J. Burns

Edward James Burns ( born October 7, 1957 in Pittsburgh) is Bishop of Juneau.

Life

The Bishop of Pittsburgh, Vincent Martin Leonard, ordained him a priest on 25 June 1983.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 19 January 2009 for the Bishop of Juneau. The Bishop of Pittsburgh, David Zubík, donated to him on March 3 of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Roger Lawrence Schwietz OMI, Archbishop of Anchorage, and Donald William Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington. The inauguration of the Diocese of Juneau followed on 2 April of the same year. As a motto he chose Pray with Confidence.
